KSA Expectations

You were chosen to play on a KSA team because we see the potential in you to be an above average outstanding Volleyball player, many girls have the goal of playing at a collegiate level.  We want to facilitate you reaching your goals and your potential!  Below are some Expectations that KSA holds to help all of us be at our best.

ATTENDANCE:  You have made a significant investment of time and money and our coaches are making a significant investment of time, we do not want to waste these precious moments by not making the most of every practice and game.    Our expectation is that every athlete be at every practice and at every game.

We understand that an athlete due to illness or unexpected events may not be able to attend a practice or a game.  If this happens the athlete needs to contact their coach through text, voice, or email (your coach will let you know the preferred method) to let the coach know that you will not be there.  Please notify the coach as soon as possible.  Your absence could affect what drills are done in practice or an entire game plan.  The more notice a coach is given, the better.

Because our expectation is for every athlete to be at each practice or game, missing practices will probably effect the amount of time that you will play during the game.  Each absence is taken on a case by case basis, and the coach is the final authority on how or if an absence will effect an athlete’s playing time.  Please remember, the better the communication with the coach on absences, the better the outcome.

EFFORT:  Our coaches are going to be designing drills and practices that will enhance and polish your strengths, as well as fix any weaknesses that you may have.  For an athlete to reach their potential, she must make a commitment to do her best and devote a lot of hard work to reach that potential.  Every drill that you do and every moment you are on a court you should be getting better.  Listen to your coach and give 100% every time and your skills will increase.  Coaches recognize effort and it is something that has an effect on who plays.

ATTITUDE:  KSA athletes are players that are respectful to coaches and each other.  We are a TEAM!!!  We follow the golden rule and treat each other the way we want to be treated.  Although it is uncommon for a KSA player to not carry themselves in a respectful way, if it happens that a player on an ongoing basis is disrespectful to their coach or their teammates, they will be talked to by the coach.  If the problem continues, the director will meet with the player and reiterate KSA’s expectations.  Our hope is that nothing would have to happen past this point.

SPIRT:  KSA has a lot of pride in all of our players and teams.  Our goal is to build a KSA family that we will have relationships with for many years.  We love to have involvement from our parents by cheering, team moms, and to see one KSA team supporting other KSA teams.  We would love for you to meet other KSA families and make great friends with the KSA families that you will see on a lot of weekends and practices.

FINANCIAL COMMITTEMENT:  Remember the tournaments that your team enters, your coach’s paycheck, uniforms, and many different things come out of the dues that you pay to KSA.  If dues are not paid, it hurts your teammates and the club.  Please stand behind the commitment that you made with KSA so that we can accomplish everything planned.  KSA never wants to institute “No Pay, No Play” so please follow through with your commitment.
